Never too Late to Register

Check out the first Scholarship of Teaching & Learning Academy, which will take place at Eastern Michigan University, May 18-19. According to the website:
This conference seeks to bring together all members of the academy engaging in or wanting to learn about the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL). Applications are encouraged from experts and novices in this field, at all career stages. This national conference will provide a forum for presenting new SOTL work, for sharing reflections on SOTL and its role within the academy, and networking with others engaged in this enterprise.
Well, we missed the deadline to submit a panel this year, but perhaps someone would be interested in putting one together for the implicit "second" SOTL? Costs of registration might require institutional support.

Sure. Definitely interested. Although for me the "institutional support" might be a problem at this point considering that one needs institutional affiliation first for the support to follow. Ha. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I am interested.

Perhaps a panel on methods for teaching undergraduate surveys or courses on gender.

Count me in for that. I'll have a much better sense of my methods after I teach my European masculinities course in the fall.

I am assuming that "Anonymous" above is CGB. Is that correct?

Yes, anonymous is CGB.

Daft brings up his "methods..." Which leads me to the question: how would you two describe your methodology? What kinds of strategies have you used for which class and how did they work? Did you find that what works in one class is a total fiasco in another? I'd be interested in sharing best and worst case scenarios.
